I am not a career politician. Much like our president, I feel that it is time that I serve my country by providing some common sense in our state government. Our legislature is running wild implementing their radical ideology that is counter to the beliefs of most Coloradans. I want to do my part to make Colorado the best place to live and work.
I brought my family to Boulder county in 2004 to work for a company in telecommunications. I am an electrical engineer by trade with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. I have started a couple of businesses and worked in several start-up companies, so I know how to make risk and fact-based decisions. I have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master of Science from Carnegie Mellon University. I have a 35-year career in telecommunications, but now I feel that it is time to serve my neighbors and state. I reside in Lake Valley Estates just 5 miles due west of Niwot in unincorporated Boulder County with my 15-year-old daughter. My son is in the Army Reserves serving our country in Honolulu, and he is 25 years old. I’ve planted roots in the area, and I’m active in the entrepreneurial community in and around Boulder.
This move to run for HD11 is a continuation of my long-time political activism that started in college when I met and voted for the wonderful Ronald Reagan. My parents knew many people in Iowa politics, so I was always around it. When I moved to New Jersey to work for AT&T Bell Laboratories, I became active in the National Motorists Association to eliminate the 55 mph National Maximum Speed Limit. That grass-roots effort enabled me to meet and work with many Congresspersons in DC. I left less impressed with how our system worked which is why I can relate directly to the President calling the area inside the Beltway The Swamp.
